Our busy little worlds are made richer by the knowledge that
when someone stopped to say 'hello', we cared enough to answer.
This website designer stops now to say Hello,
do you care enough to answer?

HELLO My life long interest in Astronomy and all things Cosmological has led to the setting up of this site. It went on-line in February 2010, so please let me know of any problems that you find on the site and I will try to fix them.
If you have any advice as to how I could improve the site or have any other kind of information that you might like to share, again ...please let me know.
Thanks
Just came accross this excellent website well worh a viewing Athmospheric Optics. It explains everything that goes on in the sky like:
"Light playing on water drops, dust or ice crystals in the atmosphere produces a host of visual spectacles - rainbows, halos, glories, coronas and many more. Some can be seen almost every day or so, some are once in a lifetime sights. Find out where to see them and how they are formed. Then seek and enjoy them outdoors".
Nice to learn something new every day.
Our beautiful home planet as seen from the Moon. From a distance everything really does look different, and so it is with how we see the stars as just fixed points of light in the night sky. Yet each point of light has it's own drama that is only now unfolding before us thanks to the wonderful technology that Science has produced. For some amazing sights go to NASA'a Hubble website and you'll want to know know more.
This incredably humbling video by my personal favourite astronomer Carl Sagan is well worth viewing. His calm voice combined with the soothing soundscore reaches the very heart of how precious our Earth is and how we are all included in it's amazing history. The amazing photo shown in the video was taken by Voyager 1 in 1990 as it was returning from a space mission. The photo itself would have been marked as un-remarkable if not for the inspiring quote from Carl Sagan, that reminds us of how small we are, even though some times we think that we are the center of the Universe. I have lost count of the amount of times I have watched this little video and still I never tire of it simple content.
Our home planet as seen by night. The lights of Europe look lovely from this distance, but for the inhabitants of those great light polluted cities it is as if the stars have all gone out. Go to my webpage Backyard Universe (see left colum) to read more about this or log onto the Save the nightwebsite and see what you can do to protect our dark skies.
